Cancellation & Refund Policy

Plans change. This policy explains what happens to a booking and to the money held in escrow when a cancellation, no-show or dispute occurs.

Last updated: 5 August 2026

1. Before payment

A booking request that has not yet been paid for can be withdrawn by the booker or declined or cancelled by the musician at any time, at no cost to either side.

2. Cancellation by the booker after payment

Once a booking is paid for, the fee is held in escrow. If the booker cancels:

More than 7 days before the event: full refund of the booking fee, less any non-refundable payment processing charge.

Between 7 days and 48 hours before the event: 50% of the fee is released to the musician as compensation for the reserved date, and the balance is refunded.

Less than 48 hours before the event: the fee is normally non-refundable, because the musician has turned down other work for that date.

3. Cancellation by the musician

If a musician cancels a paid booking, the booker receives a full refund of the amount held in escrow. Repeated cancellations affect the musician's standing on the platform and can lead to loss of verification or removal.

4. No-shows and incomplete performances

If a musician does not arrive, arrives materially late, or performs substantially less than agreed, the booker should report an issue on the booking page before the review window closes. Funds are frozen and reviewed by our team, and may be refunded in full or in part.

If a booker cancels on the day at the venue, or prevents the performance from taking place, the fee may be released to the musician in full.

5. Automatic release of escrow

After the event ends, a short completion review window opens on the booking page for both parties. If neither side reports an issue within that window, the funds are automatically released to the musician, less the platform commission. Once released, a booking is treated as successfully completed.

6. Disputes

Reporting an issue freezes the funds and opens a dispute. Our team reviews the booking details, in-platform messages and any evidence both parties provide, then releases, partially refunds or fully refunds the escrow balance. Decisions are communicated to both parties through the platform and are final for the purposes of escrow release.

7. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Paystack and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or mobile money provider. Payment processing charges may not be recoverable.

8. Force majeure

If an event cannot go ahead because of circumstances outside either party's control — for example a national directive, funeral postponement, severe weather or a serious medical emergency — we encourage rescheduling. Where that is not possible, contact us and we will release escrow fairly, usually as a full refund.

9. Getting help

For any cancellation or refund question, email gighire1@gmail.com with your booking reference. Always report issues inside the platform first so escrow can be frozen in time.
