Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of GigHire Ghana. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them.

Last updated: 5 August 2026

1. The platform

GigHire Ghana is a marketplace that connects event organisers ("bookers") with musicians. We provide discovery, messaging, booking management and escrow-protected payments. We are not a talent agency, employer or performer, and we are not a party to the performance agreement between a booker and a musician.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. Each account is one role only: musician, booker or administrator. You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity on your account. Impersonation, duplicate accounts and false verification claims are prohibited.

3. Musician obligations

Musicians must keep profiles truthful and current, only list instruments and genres they can genuinely perform, honour accepted bookings, arrive on time with agreed equipment and personnel, and communicate promptly about any problem. Accepting a booking and failing to perform may lead to refunds to the booker, loss of verification and removal from the platform.

4. Booker obligations

Bookers must describe the event accurately (date, times, venue, audience, sound and power arrangements), pay the agreed fee through the platform, provide safe working conditions, and confirm completion honestly. Requesting extra performance time must be agreed and paid for through the platform.

5. Bookings

A booking begins as a request, becomes an agreement once the musician accepts, and is secured once payment is received into escrow. The musician's phone number is released to the booker only after a booking is paid for. Both parties are expected to keep all negotiation, changes and payment inside GigHire Ghana.

6. Payments, commission and payouts

Payments are processed by Paystack in Ghana Cedis and held in escrow until the event is completed and the review window closes. GigHire Ghana charges a platform commission of 10% of the booking value, deducted from the musician's payout. Musicians withdraw their available balance to a verified bank or mobile money account. Payment processor fees may apply and are shown before you pay.

7. No bypassing the platform

Sharing phone numbers, emails, social handles or payment details in profiles, gig posts or messages in order to take a booking off-platform is prohibited. Our systems automatically screen for this. Bypassing removes escrow protection, forfeits dispute support, and can result in suspension or permanent removal.

8. Content and conduct

You keep ownership of the photos, audio and video you upload, and grant us a licence to display and promote it on the platform. You must have the rights to everything you upload. Harassment, hate speech, fraud, scraping, reverse engineering and any unlawful use of the platform are prohibited. Reviews must reflect a genuine completed booking.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms, and may withhold funds linked to fraudulent or disputed activity while we investigate. You may close your account at any time, subject to completing outstanding bookings.

10. Liability

The platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the conduct, quality, punctuality or legal compliance of any user. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability relating to any booking is limited to the platform commission we received on that booking.

11. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. We may update them; material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
